You’ve been on the front lines boosting immunity for the community in an array of meaningful and changing ways for 2 years. As we round this next corner, we want to make sure you have the tools to continue strengthening community relationships that we know pave the way to knowledge, trust and informed decision making.
On April 28, we invite everyone working in Community Health to a virtual training in honour of National Immunization Awareness Week: 23-30 April 2022 #NIAW2022 hosted by MACH’s Community Vaccine Promotion -Manitoba Project (CVP-MB). This 75 minute training will rejuvenate and update the tools you’ve been using, and will feature 3 practical components applicable to everyone working in Community Health:
- Dr. S. Michelle Driedger (Max Rady College of Medicine)
will be presenting emerging evidence regarding vaccine communication and public knowledge, with an emphasis on the important role between health care providers and the people they serve. (30 minutes) - Dr. Myles Leslie, Dr. Raad Fadaak & Nicole Pinto, MPH (School of Public Policy, University of Calgary)
from the VH (Vaccine Hesitancy) Guide will discuss Motivational Interviewing as an approach to vaccine conversations, describe a range of vaccine hesitancy origins and highlight the VH Guide as a useful tool for your continuing work in improving uptake. (20 minutes) - The CVP-MB team (Manitoba Association of Community Health) will showcase VaxFactsMB.ca, a tool developed with the goal of ensuring that you have the evidence-based information you need to address barriers to vaccination. (10 minutes)
Everyone who attends will be entered to win one of a selection of $100 gift certificates. Draws will happen live at the end of presentations.
This event will be presented in English and recorded so you’ll be able to access the recording in the future.
More event details will be available through Twitter @MACHmanitoba and MACH’s monthly E-News as we get closer to April 28, 2022.
